With each season comes a challenge or chore to tend to in the garden. Spring Services
Basic Spring Clean Service
This is a general clean-up of leaves and debris from planting and turf areas. Turf areas will be mowed to a shorter Spring height. If not included in your existing maintenance program, this will have to be quoted separately.
Light Power Rake
Power raking removes the matted down thatch. When this is removed, water, nutrients, and air can more easily be absorbed into the soil where it becomes available to the roots of the turf. Removal of thatch is also helpful in preventing fungal and insect problems.
Re-Edge & Cultivate
Re-edging your planting bed areas ensures a clean-cut and finished appearance to your landscape. Cultivation, where appropriate, will provide a fresh appearance while promoting better air, water and nutrient exchange with your plants.
Bed Pre-Emergence Application
Pre-emergence herbicide is applied to open planting areas to help control weed growth during the growing season. Pre-emergence will control a majority of weed seed germination; however, manual weeding of open planting areas will still need to be performed throughout the growing season.
Fall Services
Basic Fall Clean Service
Fall and winter bring with them a build-up of unwanted leaves and twigs which are both unsightly, and a potential threat to the health of your lawn.The fall clean-up of leaves from the turf will be done weekly if possible, beginning in early November, plus, there will be a final clean-up of planting beds and turf areas once the majority of the leaves have fallen. For a neat appearance through the winter months, the pruning back of perennials and the removal of annual flowers is also done at this time. This service is performed in three (3) planned site visits during the month of November. If not included in your existing maintenance program, this will have to be quoted separately.
Gutter Cleaning
Heading into winter with your gutter full of debris can add to the harshness of the season. Prevent costly damages from ice and water and contact us for a quote today.
Core Aeration
Aeration is a key part of any lawn care program. It reduces compaction and enables water, nutrients and air to reach the roots where they do the most for the lawn. Applications are made in Spring, or Fall.
Winter Services
Transfilm Applications
Plan to preserve your evergreens this season with applications of transfilm. Transfilm is best with 2 applications (commonly done in November & December) over evergreens before winter sets in. Transfilm is an anti-desiccant. This helps retain moisture in evergreens for up to 4 months. These natural and safe applications will greatly enhance vitality and vibrancy especially on newly planted evergreens.
Burlap Winter Applications
Winter brings some chilling conditions for both people and plants each season. Burlap is often used in conditions where evergreens are susceptible to roadway salt spray. In creating a breathable barrier from the harsh conditions this will help minimize damage from plow spray, snow drifts and other harsh winter conditions.
Deer Protection
Deer, although endearing, can cause a catastrophic amount of damage to your plants in a short period of time. Ensure your investments are safe with fencing, burlap and other protective measures offered by Milieu. Especially during the winter months this protection can make an enormous difference.
Winter Pruning
Winter offers a unique ‘clear-view’ window for our experts to assess the architectural health of your trees and shrubs. By pruning while plants are dormant and the ground is frozen, we ensure the structural integrity of your landscape is enhanced with minimal disruption to the surrounding beds, setting the stage for a vibrant spring awakening.
