WTEC Service (Weed, Trim, Edge & Cultivate)
At Milieu, one of our most popular services is our WTEC (pronounced WE-tech). During this service all plant beds will be weeded, edged and cultivated (if appropriate). Trimming and pruning of ornamental trees, shrubs and groundcover is performed to maintain a well-kept look throughout the season.
Soil Amendments
Gardens continue to grow from season to season. But a little help from soil amendments can go a long way enriching the soil and giving life to your plants. Leaf compost being the most popular for perennial gardens, our teams carefully add this amendment to help your soil and plants thrive.
Mulching
Whether it is seasonal or winter mulch this is another popular service Milieu offers in garden maintenance. Adding mulch adds to your beds and leaves the beds looking refreshed and clean. Mulch has many benefits including soil retention, weed suppression, and even soil erosion.

Hardscape Maintenance: Protecting Your Outdoor Hardscapes & Masonry
Hardscapes and masonry, such as patios, walkways, and retaining walls, add functionality and beauty to your landscape. However, they require regular maintenance to stay in top condition and continue to leave a lasting impression. Our hardscape maintenance services include pressure washing, sealing, and repairs.
Pressure Washing and Cleaning
Time can build dirt, grime, and mildew to your hard surfaces, Milieu can help restore their original appearance with washing and cleaning. Based on the condition of the pavers a cleaning solution may be needed and stains addressed accordingly.
Sealing
Once pavers have been cleaned or newly installed, sealing is highly recommended. A safe coating is applied to the surface of the product to help protect from stains and inhibit vegetation growth. Sealing comes in several different finishes and will help keep and enhance paver color and texture. Sealing on average can last 3-5 years and is well worth the investment in extending the lifespan of your investment.

Seasonal Maintenance: Year-Round Care for Your Landscape
With each season comes a challenge or chore to tend to in the garden. With our seasonal maintenance program you can sign up for Spring and Fall clean ups, gutter maintenance, deer protection, transfilm applications and more. Let us take the burden so you can enjoy the beauty of each season in your landscape.
Basic Spring Clean Service
This is a general clean-up of leaves and debris from planting and turf areas. Turf areas will be mowed to a shorter Spring height. If not included in your existing maintenance program, this will have to be quoted separately.
Light Power Rake
Power raking removes the matted down thatch. When this is removed, water, nutrients, and air can more easily be absorbed into the soil where it becomes available to the roots of the turf. Removal of thatch is also helpful in preventing fungal and insect problems.
Re-Edge and Cultivate
Re-edging your planting bed areas ensures a clean-cut and finished appearance to your landscape. Cultivation, where appropriate, will provide a fresh appearance while promoting better air, water and nutrient exchange with your plants.
Bed Pre-Emergence Application
Pre-emergence herbicide is applied to open planting areas to help control weed growth during the growing season. Pre-emergence will control a majority of weed seed germination; however, manual weeding of open planting areas will still need to be performed throughout the growing season.
Basic Fall Clean Service
Fall and winter bring with them a build-up of unwanted leaves and twigs which are both unsightly, and a potential threat to the health of your lawn and landscape. Our teams take on the season starting in November to tidy up your landscape for its winter rest.
Gutter Cleaning

Core Aeration
Aeration is a key part of any lawn care program. It reduces compaction and enables water, nutrients and air to reach the roots where they do the most for the lawn. Applications are made in Spring, or Fall.
Transfilm Applications
Plan to preserve them this season with applications of transfilm. Transfilm is best with 2 applications (commonly done in November & December) over evergreens before winter sets in. Transfilm is an anti-desiccant. This helps retain moisture in evergreens for up to 4 months. These natural and safe applications will greatly enhance vitality and vibrancy especially on newly planted evergreens.
Burlap Winter Applications
Winter brings some chilling conditions for both people and plants each season. Burlap is often used in conditions where evergreens are susceptible to roadway salt spray. In creating a breathable barrier from the harsh conditions this will help minimize damage from plow spray, snow drifts and other harsh winter conditions.
Deer Protection
Deer, although endearing, can cause a catastrophic amount of damage to your plants in a short period of time. Ensure your investments are safe with fencing, burlap and other protective measures offered by Milieu. Especially during the winter months this protection can make an enormous difference.
