Timber & Twilight

For this Barrington backyard, we were brought in to take an existing landscape concept and elevate it into a space that felt distinctly personal to the homeowner and beautifully connected to her new home. Our design focused on creating an outdoor environment that was both refined and inviting — a place where she could retreat and unwind, while still providing an effortless setting for her children and their friends to gather. We thoughtfully reworked the original design, refining the layout and selecting elements that brought greater personality, functionality, and cohesion to the property. From the carefully installed pavers and landscape beds to the integrated lighting and irrigation, every detail was considered as part of the larger vision. A privacy fence, envisioned by the homeowner, helped define the space and create a sense of intimacy. To soften the structure and bring the landscape back into the architecture, we incorporated climbing hydrangea, adding texture, movement, and a beautiful natural transition. The finished landscape is more than an enhancement to the home — it creates a true outdoor extension of the living space. Elegant enough to welcome guests. Comfortable enough to retreat to. Thoughtfully designed for everyday life. This is what we love about landscape design: taking a vision and turning it into an exterior that feels intentional, timeless, and completely at home.
